Walk a Mile: Because HERstory Counts on October 7th from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at Veteran's Square in Carlisle, PA. Join us to raise awareness to end violence against women and girls.
Why I Walk? As a sexual assault survivor, I am walking to help the innocent child who can't find their voice, suffering in silence and shame. The Carlisle & Cumberland YWCA offers sexual assault and human trafficking services. They provide age-appropriate prevention and awareness/education programs in schools and higher learning institutions. They facilitate professional community trainings. Their curriculum-based programs and educational trainings engage participants as change agents and help foster a better understanding for sexual violence issues. Program topics include (but not limited to):
Body Ownership, Boundaries/Assertiveness, Healthy Relationships, Consent, Mandated Reporter Training, Workplace Violence, Bystander Intervention, Human Trafficking 101, Digital Safety & Grooming and more. They provide support to the community answering a sexual assault hotline 24 hours a day and are advocates to survivors through their healing journey from counseling to offering support through medical and legal proceedings.
Will you help me, join this team and walk with us, support these amazing efforts with a donation. Let's fill with Carlisle Square on October 7th at 5pm!
